The 48 star flag
The 48-star United States flag was in use from 1912 to 1959. It was created after Arizona was admitted as the 48th state of the Union in 1912. The flag was carried by American soldiers in World War I, World War II and the Korean War. The number of stars on the flag corresponded to the number of states in the Union at the time. The flag became emblematic for the generations that lived through these conflicts and is often associated with a sense of national pride. Today, the flag is often used for commemorative and patriotic events as a testament to the sacrifice and commitment of those who served under it.
